My boyfriend threatens to kill or hurt me when he is drunk. i have no witnesses can i still press charges?

when he sobers up the next day he says that i am lying and that he would never say it. i am not stupid i feel i am in danger or could be i don't want to find out the hard way. is the threat of bodily harm against the law? i live in Pennsylvania.
