My fellow atheists do you also appreciate some religious concepts such as?

self sacrifice for the greater good(martyrdom), enlightenment, zeal (but not overbearing). i mean it sounds a little crazy but i like the characters of religions, i find them interesting in that they describe how each culture looked at death and life and what they valued...so what do you think atheists? is there anything we can learn from religion? (im not saying whether these religions are good or bad or if their followers just if we can learn some small thing from them, some glimmer of light in the tunnel)
