I need help making an awsome cake!?

ok, so on monday i was watching cakeboss and I was really in the mood to make a cake. So I said "hey mom, can we make a cake for superbowl sunday?" And she said sure. But the a brilliant idea came to me! a cake off! I make a cake and you make a cake and they boys ( my brothers and dad and cousins) will oick witch ones better! with a little hessitation, she said why not? So im really excited about this cake off cuz my family never does anything fun! So im only 11, and I need a good recipe cuz i HAVE to win! so does anyone no any AWSOME recipes? and they have to be easy! and does anyone have any tips to make my cake taste even better then my moms? ( my moms cake are amazing!) by the way they have to be easy because i only been in family consumer science ( baking and cooking) for one day so i dont no much! Please help!
